Trauma, Drama, and Karma
What defines us as human beings? We perceive our reality through a window of mind, based on what’s going on emotionally in the body. In this enlightening lecture, Dr Joe will discuss:
- Trauma: When we think about traumatic events, the key ingredient is a very high emotional charge. Trauma is negative, and it can be physical, chemical, or emotional. We get a rush of sensory input/information to the brain, and the organization of neurons begins that produces an emotional reaction in the body. The result in this change in biology is a change in your identity.
- Drama: when a person notices a fracturing of their identity, they have to reinforce the emotion to remember who they are. They redefine their identity by remembering an event that created it, which becomes highly addictive. By repeating the story (I am the way I am because of this past event) a person becomes hard-wired to this state and wears it on a cellular level. When the body is working with mind to live in emotional drama, you will draw events to you equal to that drama.
- Karma is the result of Drama, which is living by the same emotion that is driving your behavior. Living by the same emotion allows the wheel of Karma to continually produce the same results in your life. You will keep experiencing the same emotion until you begin to break the addiction to that emotion. When you break the addiction, there is no more Karma.
When you understand how Trauma, Drama, and Karma work together, you can begin to take the steps necessary to produce real, permanent change in your life.
